By Joy Portella, President, Minerva Strategies—
Recently, Minerva Strategies helped our client The Lemelson Foundation celebrate their 20th anniversary in Washington, DC. It’s always rewarding and exciting to work with a client through a major milestone, but this was more than just a birthday party; it was an opportunity to bring together generations of inventors from across the globe.
With our partner Brotherton Strategies, Minerva has been improving the communications efforts of the Foundation for two years. During that time, I’ve learned a tremendous amount about how inventors can boost economies and solve pressing human needs, and what kind of support systems they need to succeed. I’ve also been inspired and amazed by how the mind of an inventor works – the insatiable curiosity, the determination to “fix” things, and the tireless search for innovative solutions.
During this anniversary year, we had the opportunity to contribute to a content series called “20 Big Ideas,” which highlights 20 of Lemelson’s most remarkable grantees, sub-grantees, and ideas that have promoted invention to improve lives. We’ve also helped shape the 20th anniversary celebrations, which consisted of a day of panels, invention spotlights, videos, and networking.
You can check out more details of the anniversary events on The Lemelson Foundation’s website. Be sure to check out the Foundation’s 20th anniversary video below, and get ready to be inspired by invention!
